The Minor Scale

There are two types of minor scale. They are called
MELODIC MINOR or HARMONIC MINOR.

This is the melodic minor scale in the key of A minor. Relative major is C major.

Note that there is an F sharp and a G sharp going up the scale.

Going down the scale there is not F sharp or G sharp.

The third note in this scale is a C natural. (This is the start of its relative major of C major).

The 6th and 7th notes are raised one semitone going up. The 6th and 7th notes are lowered going down.
