Always keep rests to a minimum. (If you have the choice of putting in 2 crotchet rests or a minim rest, then put in the minim rest.)

    Click the play arrow twice.
Minim, crotchet, crotchet rest, quaver, quaver rest, quaver,
quaver rest.
Dotted quaver, semiquaver, dotted quaver, semiquaver rest, semibreve.
