Key Signatures

This site is for UK music terms.

Time signatures are many and various!

We have already learnt about 2/4, 3/4 and 4/4.

The number at the top tells us how many beats in the bar. The number at the bottom tells us the type or kind of note.
So 2/4 = 2 crotchets in a bar.

2/2 means there are 2 minims in each bar.

Here is a section of a piece with different notes, but with a
2/2 time signature.
