South Padre Island  Galveston  Galveston Ferry  Alligators of Anahuac  Bluebonnets of Texas  Dallas Texas

Bluebonnets are amazing in 2007.

The bluebonnet, a name common to several North American species of Lupinus, is the state flower of Texas. They usually grow about 1 ft tall. The name is possibly derived from the shape of the petals of the flower and their resemblance to the bonnets worn by pioneer women to shield themselves from the sun.

These pictures were taken in the Hill Country, West of Austin, on the road from Willow City to Riley Mountain. April 7 2007.
